Welcome to the blog of The Masked Doctoral Student. Here I intend to chronicle my experiences while working at a large, midwestern university (my first of many allusions to social scientific research). I expect this to be a space in which I may detail success stories, difficulties, publications, and my experiences with research and teaching, while balancing what might be termed my social life.
I want to think of this space as a hypertextual, post-modern space where I might post field notes as reflections on the research I am conducting. I hope that by engaging with my own reflections in a critical way (what Walter Jacobs would call a "pensieve"-alluding to Harry Potter 4), to provide myself an opportunity and a space to see connections and links that might not otherwise be apparent.
